The Basics
* As far as I know, clowns are FULL SUPPORT classes and nothing more. If youre planning to go WoE and kill people with Arrow Vulcan, might as well change to another job.
* Its mandatory to bring atleast two of the instruments that you use. You should end your songs using Fast Switch instead of Adaptation to Circumstances. Do this by putting your instrument on a skill slot, play a song, hit the skills slot of the equipment, then play the next song.
* Always make sure that you have link so that you will be affected by your song buffs as well.
* Songs and Dances do have a 20 second after cast effect, meaning that the buff will last for 20 seconds after you end a song or after a player leaves the aoe. But when that player goes back to the aoe, or you recast the same song/dance while a previous one is still in effect, the counter will be refreshed. I think this same principle applies even with using a level 1 song/dance while a previous higher level song/dance is still in effect. Meaning, the bonus from the lower song/dance will not overlap or replace that of the higher level played, it will just refresh the 20 second effect of the buff. Though I haven't tried the other way around, playing a level 1 song first, then play a level 10 after and seeing if the higher level song replaces the bonus of the previously played one.
* This may be a personal preference, but most of the time it is better to flash songs rather than keeping them up the whole time. The reason for this is that you dont want the charging opponents to get your buffs as well. Its also recommended that you flash songs atleast every 5 seconds to ensure that your guildmates always gets your buffs. This may be an sp consuming scenario, but this can be addressed later on.
* Positioning inside the mob is also important, remember that songs do have a 7x7 cell aoe around the caster. So try to position yourself in the middle of the mob where most of your guildmates could get the buff. If your mob is too big, and assuming there are other clowns on your guild, you can simply split up the area that would be covered by the buff. Probably one clown would try to cover most of the front liners while the other one tries to cover the back.
* One trick to a faster Frost Joke aside from using Spirited Guitar is to put a level 5 Frost Joke on F8, and a level 4 on F7. Then type in /q2, and use your mouse wheel and roll it up and down as fast as you can.
* Also, remember that you have the skills Attention Concentrate and Dissonance so use them well. Attention Concentrate doesn't only boost your Agi and Dex, it also acts as a revealer, allowing you to catch those enemies to rushes into our mob and hide or so. Next is Dissonance, its main use would probably be to reveal enemy stalkers who would try to get inside our mob. You can also use this to cancel enemy Emergency Calls while they're inside our mob. As I've seen from videos of Stalker Ecallers, they use Flying Side Kick to land on the same cell of an enemy, making them harder to be clicked. Since Dissonance damage is an aoe, it will be easier to cancel those Ecalls because you dont have to struggle clicking those enemies anymore.
* Lastly, during WoE remember to flash your songs before entering the castle. This will help a lot in terms of allowing your Professors to be able to cast LP easier, or your HW's to cast spells upon entering the castle
The Role
* Basically, I think that a clown has two distinct roles during WoE. The main job would be to support your guildmates using buff songs/dance, and the other one would be supporting by using Frost Joke and Tarot Card of Fate.
The Stats
* I wont discuss the exact number of every stat point needed for the build, as I think that there are other members in our guild who can give better insights to this matter. However, I can say that in general, a clown's build revolves around mainly Int, Dex, and Vit due to its primary buff skills Poem of Bragi, Apple of Idun, and Service for You. It is also advisable to keep these stats in multiples of 10 to get the maximum effect from song buffs. I will discuss this bonuses further more in the skills section.
* One thing to remember is that status immunities are important since the moment you get stunned or silenced, it will end the song that youre currently using, thus leaving you useless.
The Equipments
* Upper headgear : Feather Beret / Chicken of Love Hat [Carat/Isilla/Elder Willow]
- Its quite important to get some resistance especially for a vulnerable class like a clown. Feather Beret gives 10% resistance against Demihumans. On the other hand, if you really need the boost in Int, you can use Chicker of Love hat, which still has 7% resistance and can be slotted by cards.
* Middle headgear: Odin Mask [Carat/Isilla/Elder Willow]
- Though it might be quite expensive for starting clowns, this is just optional. Perhaps you can just replace this with def equips like Phantom of the Opera, etc.
* Armor: Tights [Evil Druid/Marc]
- Probably its better to main Evil Druid Tights for the bonus Int and resistance to certain statuses. Though its always helpful to bring an extra armor incase the other breaks.
* Weapon: Harp/Chello/Violin [Drops/Fabre/Golem]
- There are a couple of varieties that can be used depending on what stat you need the most. But with the release of the Chello, its now used most of the time since it has the highest stat bonus that you could get in an instrument. Just remember, a Golem card on each instrument is a must since once your instrument breaks, you're pretty much useless now.
* Shield: Valkyrie Shield [Thara Frog/Horn]
- Again, resistance helps a lot, especially against AD's and elemental spells.
* Garment: Wool Scarf [Raydric/Noxious]
* Shoes: Tidal Shoes [Green Ferus]
* Accessories: Earring/Orleans Glove/Necklace [Spore/Zerom/Smokie/Alligator]
- Some do prefer stats>resistance, but in terms of survivability, it would be best to main a Smokie accessory and an Alligator to reduce damage taken from long ranged attacks. Surviving longer is better since youll be able to support your guildmates and help them in WoE.

These are some of the basic equipments that a clown would need. As you can see, Ive enumerated options that you can choose from in order to suit your build.
